The Sunbed Association in the UK (TSA) has been assessed as training provider for the new European Standard EN 16489-Part1 “Professional indoor UV exposure services – Part 1: Requirements for the provision of training”.
A team of auditors reviewed the content of the training course and related materials provided by TSA to a first group of trainees representing tanning facilities from all over the UK. In a first meeting in the end of April TSA officials explained their previous training. The auditors identified some gaps and proposed necessary amendments. TSA updated all materials accordingly and trained a first group online through its e-learning platform. The auditors then attended the practical examination (role play) and the multiple choice testing of this group during a second visit to London in early December.
TSA has now fulfilled all requirements and has been granted a certificate by Austrian Standards and ESA to acknowledge their achievement.
